Burning velocity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001545
The speed at which a flame front propagates through a combustible mixture, relative to the unburned gas ahead of it. This intrinsic property of a fuel-oxidizer mixture is influenced by factors such as temperature, pressure, and composition. It is a key parameter in combustion science for designing engines and safety systems.
