Mobile-phase velocity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007439
The average linear speed at which the mobile phase travels through a chromatographic column. This velocity is a key factor in determining the retention time of analytes and the overall efficiency of the separation. It is often calculated by dividing the column length by the retention time of an unretained compound.
