Biphasic system
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001338
A chemical system composed of two distinct, immiscible phases that coexist in equilibrium. These phases can be liquid-liquid, liquid-solid, or gas-liquid, and they are separated by an interface. Such systems are frequently employed in extraction processes to separate components based on their differential partitioning between the phases.
