Fluorophilic interaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004532
A specific attractive force between fluorinated compounds or segments, arising from London dispersion forces and the unique electronic properties of fluorine atoms. This interaction drives the self-assembly of fluorinated molecules in non-fluorinated media, leading to phase separation. It is a key factor in the design of fluorinated surfactants and materials for specialized applications.
