Hydrodynamic interaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005464
The influence of a polymer chain's movement on the solvent flow field, which in turn affects the motion of other parts of the same chain or other chains. This effect arises from the displacement of solvent by the polymer segments as they move. It is a key factor in determining the diffusion and viscosity of polymer solutions.
