Hydrodynamic volume
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005466
The effective volume occupied by a macromolecule in solution, including the volume of the polymer itself and the solvent molecules that are entrained or associated with it. This parameter reflects the size and shape of the polymer coil under specific solvent and temperature conditions. It is typically determined by techniques such as size exclusion chromatography or dynamic light scattering.
