Size-exclusion chromatography
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010921
A chromatographic technique used to separate macromolecules, such as polymers, based primarily on their hydrodynamic volume or size in solution. The separation occurs as molecules pass through a porous stationary phase, with larger molecules eluting first because they are excluded from smaller pores. This method is widely used to determine the molecular weight distribution of polymers.
