Ion-exclusion chromatography

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006103

A chromatographic technique that separates ionic and non-ionic species based on their differential exclusion from the pores of a stationary phase. Highly ionized species are repelled by the charged functional groups of the resin and elute faster, while less ionized or neutral species can penetrate the pores and are retained longer. This method is often used for the separation of weak acids and bases.
