Molar-mass exclusion limit

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007476

The maximum molar mass of a polymer that can penetrate the pores of a given chromatographic stationary phase in size-exclusion chromatography. Polymers with molar masses above this limit are completely excluded from the pores and elute at the earliest possible time. This parameter defines the effective separation range of a size-exclusion column.
