Molar-mass dispersity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007475

A measure of the breadth of the molar mass distribution in a polymer sample, indicating the heterogeneity of chain lengths. It is calculated as the ratio of the weight-average molar mass to the number-average molar mass. A value of 1.0 indicates a perfectly monodisperse sample, where all polymer chains have the same molar mass.
