Ion-exchange sorbent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006102
A material, typically a resin or gel, containing charged functional groups that can reversibly bind ions from a solution. These sorbents are used in ion-exchange chromatography and other separation processes to selectively remove or concentrate specific ionic species. The capacity and selectivity of the sorbent depend on the nature and density of its charged groups.
