Cation exchanger
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001743
A solid, insoluble material, typically a resin, containing negatively charged functional groups that can reversibly bind and exchange with cations from a surrounding solution. These materials are used in ion-exchange chromatography to separate positively charged species. Common functional groups include sulfonic acid and carboxylic acid groups.
