Sjögren syndrome

A chronic autoimmune disease characterized by the immune system attacking moisture-producing glands, primarily the salivary and lacrimal glands, leading to dry eyes and dry mouth. This condition can also affect other organs and is often associated with the presence of specific autoantibodies. It is more common in women and can occur alone or with other autoimmune disorders.
