Antiphospholipid syndrome
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000704
An autoimmune disorder characterized by the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, which target phospholipid-binding proteins, leading to an increased risk of blood clots and pregnancy complications. This condition can occur alone or in association with other autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus. Diagnosis involves detecting specific antibodies like lupus anticoagulant and anticardiolipin antibodies.
