Immune complex deposition

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005636

The accumulation of immune complexes in tissues, which can lead to inflammation and tissue damage. These complexes are formed when antibodies bind to antigens, creating structures that are not effectively cleared by the immune system. This process is implicated in autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
