Immune complex
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005635
A molecular complex formed by the non-covalent binding of an antibody to a soluble antigen. These complexes can vary in size and composition depending on the antigen-antibody ratio. Small, soluble immune complexes can circulate in the bloodstream and, if not cleared efficiently, may deposit in tissues, leading to inflammatory responses and tissue damage.
