Equivalence

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004073

A state in immunology where the concentrations of antigen and antibody are optimal for the formation of large, insoluble immune complexes. This balance allows for maximal precipitation or agglutination in in vitro assays. In a precipitin curve, equivalence represents the zone where the most antigen-antibody complexes are formed.
