Precipitation indicator

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009350

A substance used in precipitation titrations that undergoes a distinct color change or forms a colored precipitate at or near the equivalence point. This change signals the completion of the reaction between the analyte and the titrant. Examples include adsorption indicators like fluorescein or indicators that form colored complexes with excess titrant ions.
