Adsorption indicator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000289
A substance used in precipitation titrations that changes color when adsorbed onto the surface of the precipitate at the equivalence point. The color change is typically due to a change in the indicator's electronic structure upon adsorption, which is influenced by the charge on the precipitate surface. Fluorescein is a common example used in argentometric titrations.
