End-point error

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003911

The difference between the observed end point of a titration and the true equivalence point. This error arises from the indicator changing color slightly before or after the stoichiometric reaction is complete. Minimizing end-point error is achieved by selecting an indicator with a pKa close to the pH at the equivalence point.
