Precipitation from homogeneous solution

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009349

A technique for forming precipitates by generating the precipitating agent slowly and uniformly throughout the solution, rather than by direct addition. This method typically results in larger, purer, and more easily filterable crystals due to the gradual increase in supersaturation. Examples include the hydrolysis of urea to produce hydroxide ions.
