Precipitation fractionation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009348
A method for separating a polymer sample into fractions based on differences in molecular weight or chemical composition. This technique involves dissolving the polymer in a solvent and then gradually adding a non-solvent to induce the precipitation of polymer chains. The fractions are collected at different stages of precipitation, often by varying temperature or non-solvent concentration.
