Protein fractionation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009577
The process of separating a mixture of proteins into individual components or groups of components based on their physical or chemical properties. Techniques such as chromatography, electrophoresis, and ultracentrifugation are employed for this purpose. This separation is often a preliminary step for further analysis, such as protein identification or characterization.
