Multidimensional protein identification technology

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007632

A proteomic approach that combines multiple separation techniques, typically liquid chromatography, with mass spectrometry for the identification of proteins in complex biological mixtures. Proteins are first digested into peptides, which are then separated by two or more orthogonal chromatographic methods before being introduced into a mass spectrometer. This method is widely used for large-scale protein identification and quantification in biological samples.
