Protein quantification

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009584

The measurement of the concentration or absolute amount of one or more specific proteins in a sample. Methods range from absorbance-based assays like the Bradford or BCA assays for total protein content to more specific techniques like ELISA or mass spectrometry for individual proteins. Results are expressed in units such as milligrams per milliliter (mg/mL) or as a relative amount compared to a control sample.
