Western blot
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012679
A laboratory method for identifying particular proteins within a complex biological sample. This technique separates proteins by size using gel electrophoresis, then transfers them to a membrane where specific antibodies bind to the target protein for detection. The presence of the protein is typically visualized through chemiluminescence or colorimetric reactions.
