Western Pacific amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and parkinsonism-dementia complex

A neurodegenerative disorder endemic to certain Western Pacific islands, characterized by a combination of symptoms resembling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and dementia. The etiology is complex, with environmental factors, such as exposure to cycad neurotoxins, being implicated. This condition presents a unique clinical profile distinct from sporadic forms of these diseases.
