Neurotoxin

A poisonous substance that acts specifically on nerve cells, disrupting their normal function or causing their destruction. These toxins can interfere with neurotransmission, ion channels, or cellular metabolism within the nervous system. Many neurotoxins are produced by living organisms, such as snake venom or bacterial toxins.
