Toxin

A poisonous substance produced by living organisms, such as bacteria, plants, or animals, that can cause disease or death upon exposure. These biological agents often exert their effects by interfering with specific biochemical pathways or cellular functions. Examples include botulinum toxin from bacteria and venom from snakes.
