Toxification
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012180
The metabolic process by which a less toxic or non-toxic substance is converted into a more toxic compound within a living organism. This biotransformation often occurs through enzymatic reactions, primarily in the liver. It can lead to the formation of reactive intermediates that cause cellular damage.
