Immunotoxin

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005717

A hybrid molecule composed of an antibody or antibody fragment linked to a toxin, designed to specifically target and kill cells expressing a particular antigen. The antibody component directs the toxin to the target cell, while the toxin moiety then induces cell death. These agents are developed for therapeutic purposes, particularly in cancer treatment, to selectively eliminate malignant cells while sparing healthy tissues.
