Secondary parkinsonism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010623
A condition characterized by symptoms resembling Parkinson's disease, such as tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia, and postural instability, but caused by an identifiable external factor rather than neurodegeneration. Common causes include certain medications, toxins, cerebrovascular disease, or head trauma. Unlike idiopathic Parkinson's disease, it often lacks a good response to levodopa.
