Sclerosis

A pathological hardening of tissue or an organ, typically due to an increase in fibrous connective tissue. This condition can result from chronic inflammation, injury, or degenerative processes, leading to impaired function. In the nervous system, it involves the demyelination and loss of axons, as seen in multiple sclerosis.
