Systemic sclerosis

A chronic autoimmune connective tissue disease characterized by excessive collagen deposition, leading to hardening and thickening of the skin and internal organs. This condition can affect the lungs, heart, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. It is also known as scleroderma and involves the production of specific autoantibodies.
