Multiple sclerosis

A chronic, autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. It involves the immune system attacking the myelin sheath, which insulates nerve fibers, leading to demyelination and impaired nerve signal transmission.
