Multiple scattering

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007662

The phenomenon where a particle, such as a photon or electron, undergoes several successive scattering events as it traverses through a medium. This process leads to a complex trajectory and angular distribution of the scattered particles, making direct interpretation of single scattering events difficult. It is a common occurrence in turbid media, such as colloids or biological tissues, affecting light propagation.
