Light scattering
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006584
The phenomenon where light deviates from a straight path due to interactions with particles in a medium. The pattern and intensity of scattered light depend on the wavelength of light and the size, shape, and refractive index of the particles. Rayleigh scattering explains the blue color of the sky.
