Static light scattering

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011329

A technique used to determine the molar mass, size, and shape of macromolecules in solution by measuring the intensity of scattered light as a function of scattering angle. The time-averaged intensity of the scattered light is analyzed based on the Rayleigh scattering theory. This method is widely employed for characterizing polymers and proteins.
