Scleroderma

A chronic autoimmune disease characterized by the hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues, often affecting internal organs as well. The condition results from an overproduction of collagen, leading to fibrosis. It can manifest as localized scleroderma, affecting only the skin, or systemic scleroderma, which is more severe and widespread.
