Connective tissue

A type of animal tissue that supports, connects, or separates different types of tissues and organs in the body. It is characterized by a sparse cellular component embedded within an extensive extracellular matrix, which provides structural support and mediates cell interactions. Examples include cartilage, bone, fat, and fibrous tissue like tendons and ligaments.
