Cartilage
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001688
A flexible connective tissue found in many parts of the body, including joints, the ear, and the nose. It consists of chondrocytes embedded in an extracellular matrix rich in collagen and proteoglycans, providing support and cushioning. Unlike other connective tissues, cartilage lacks blood vessels and nerves, receiving nutrients through diffusion.
