Chondroblast
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002023
A cell derived from mesenchymal stem cells that is actively involved in the synthesis of the extracellular matrix of cartilage. These immature cells secrete collagen fibers, proteoglycans, and other components that form the cartilage tissue. Once surrounded by the matrix they produce, chondroblasts differentiate into mature chondrocytes.
