Mesectoderm
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007198
A type of embryonic tissue originating from the neural crest that differentiates into mesenchymal structures like bone and cartilage, primarily in the head and neck region. It possesses characteristics of both mesoderm and ectoderm, reflecting its unique developmental origin. This tissue contributes to the formation of craniofacial bones, cartilage, dentin, and parts of the meninges surrounding the brain.
