Teratoma
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011873
A type of germ cell tumor that contains tissues derived from all three embryonic germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. These tumors can include differentiated structures such as hair, teeth, bone, muscle, and neural tissue, reflecting their origin from pluripotent stem cells. Teratomas are most frequently found in the ovaries or testes, but can also occur in other locations like the sacrococcygeal region.
