Teratocarcinoma
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011865
A malignant germ cell tumor composed of a mixture of undifferentiated embryonic carcinoma cells and differentiated somatic tissues derived from all three embryonic germ layers. These tumors often arise in the gonads, particularly the testis, but can also occur in extragonadal sites. The presence of both immature and mature tissue components distinguishes it from a benign teratoma.
