Epithelioma
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013075
A tumor originating from epithelial cells, which form the surface layers of the body, line hollow organs, and constitute glands. These tumors arise from the epidermis or related tissues and are classified based on the specific type of epithelial cell from which they develop. While the term historically encompassed both benign and malignant growths, in modern pathology it most often denotes a malignant tumor, also known as a carcinoma.
