Pseudobulbar affect

A neurological condition characterized by involuntary, sudden, and uncontrollable outbursts of crying or laughing that are disproportionate to or incongruent with the patient's emotional state. It results from damage to neural pathways that regulate emotional expression, often seen in conditions like stroke, multiple sclerosis, or traumatic brain injury. This condition is distinct from mood disorders.
