Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004026
A chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures, which are sudden surges of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. These seizures can manifest in many ways, from brief lapses of attention or muscle jerks to severe and prolonged convulsions. The condition may result from genetic predisposition, brain injury, stroke, or exposure to certain neurotoxic chemicals during development, affecting the normal function of neurotransmitter systems.
