A phenomenon in neurobiology where repeated exposure to a subconvulsive stimulus progressively lowers the threshold for seizure activity, eventually leading to spontaneous seizures. This process involves long-lasting changes in neuronal excitability within the brain. It is often studied in animal models to understand epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
