Northern blot
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008083
A molecular biology technique used to detect specific RNA sequences in a sample. RNA is first separated by gel electrophoresis, then transferred to a membrane, and finally hybridized with a labeled probe complementary to the target RNA. This method provides information about gene expression levels by indicating the presence and abundance of particular RNA molecules.
